If you visit Yats in Indianapolis you can see why the city is going crazy for Cajun. Born and raised in New Orleans, Yats owner Joe Vuskovich has always had a passion for Cajun cuisine. Joe has been running restaurants since he was 19 years old and he hasn’t stopped since. With straight forward pricing ($4.50 for a half-order $5.50 for a regular order) and a Mardi Gras type atmosphere, Yats quickly found a loyal cult following. Joe credits this cult following to word of mouth, which is why he was so excited to be a part of the second Indianapolis TasteCasting.

His recipe for success has paid off. Yats now has four locations across Indianapolis and has recently opened one in Chicago. Hours vary by location but you can check out a complete listing on their web site at www.yatscajuncreole.com along with a complete menu.

The Yats TasteCast

For the Indianapolis TasteCasting at Yats, TrendyMinds Inc., an Indianapolis based full-service advertising agency brought together some loyal followers and some first timers for the event. Sampling everything from gumbo to jambalaya and chili-cheese etouffee with crawfish to white-chili with chicken, our TasteCasters sampled it all. The food was awesome and so was the atmosphere. It is no wonder why Yats was named one of the four most noteworthy places to eat in Indianapolis, in the New York Times’ recent article What’s Doing in Indianapolis. yats-07And to top off the event we had a special visit from Indianapolis news station WISH-TV who helped add to the excitement and buzz surrounding the TasteCasting.

You can check out their menu, hours, and other fun facts at www.yatscajuncreole.com.
