King David Dogs
A Little Background
Brent Joseph has hot dog royalty running in his veins. Owner of King David Dogs in downtown Indianapolis, Brent has brought the city a truly one of a kind hot dog. Originally made by Hene Meat Company back in the 1940s, the Hene brothers (Paul and William) created an all-beef, one-fourth pound hot dog which was sold to local groceries and delis. This was continued until the early 1990s.
After plenty of well-thought out research Joseph and his wife Hannah decided that they wanted to bring back “An Indy Original” so Brent left his job to revive the family business. After searching far and wide, Brent found a manufacturer that was able to re-create the original King David hot dog recipe.
With the hardest work now behind him, Brent opened up shop at 15 N. Pennsylvania in downtown Indianapolis where he offers a hot dog heaven to Indianapolis residents. King David Dogs is a testament to what a hot dog should be. A place where you can top your dog with just about anything you can think of. From bacon to white chicken chili, they have it all.

Helping a Fellow TasteCaster
The King David Taste Cast (Check out the Video)
The first Indianapolis TasteCasting Team consisted of 15 TasteCasters, all of whom represent a diverse social media presence in the Central Indiana area. TrendyMinds Inc., an Indianapolis based full-service advertising agency assembled this team of tenacious tweeters and bodacious bloggers who sampled on a smorgasbord of extraordinary hot dogs with some not so ordinary toppings.
All of the hot dogs sampled by the TasteCasters were delicious, but some of the real “wieners” were the New York Dog (authentic New York Style Onion Sauce, Spicy brown Mustard, and Sauerkraut), the South of the Border Dog aka: the Chihuahua (Chili, Nacho Cheese, Chopped Onions, Jalapeno Wheels, and Salsa), and The Monster (Nacho Cheese, Chili with Beans, Bacon, Onions, Jalapenos, and a side of Ranch Dressing for Dipping).
