The Suisse Shop Tortes

Incredible Tasty Tortes

This week is Torte’s By The Slice Week at The Suisse Shop Bakery. If you want a slice of heaven in the form of pastry I would highly recommend stopping by tomorrow while there are still slices of tortes available. You can choose from 25 different tortes by the slice or by the whole torte. All of the cakes come in 8″ and 10″ sizes. They even have a Cute Cake®.

The TasteCasting Team is Introduced to The Suisse Shop

To kick off the tasting event Herb Jones, the husband of the owner, Darlene Jones, and main wedding cake delivery boy gave us a brief introduction to The Suisse Shop Operation and explained what goes into this week and into the delicious pastries.

So many Tortes So Little Time – What’s Your Favorite?

Walking into the bakery was a treat in itself. When the Tortes were served we were all introduced to flavors like Suisse Almond, Waldorf Red, Amaretto Crown, Lemon Blossom, and Peanut Butter. I had to take a moment and interview a few tasters to find out what their favorites were and ask them what they would recommend to our readers. Find out what Anna-Harper-Hess, her husband and Cheryl Harrison selected as their best picks.

Tell us about your customers and your favorite

I couldn’t pass up a quick interview with Elizabeth Jones, The general manger of the Suisse Shop. I just wanted to know what the regular customers order when the come in and I had to ask what her favorite baked good was.

TasteCasting Crashers Get A Treat

I also had the opportunity to take a series of pictures while at the event. These pictures will give you a sense of what took place, the delicious tortes we were privileged enough to try. During the tasting the Suisse Shop was closed, but that didn’t stop some passionate former customers from coming on in. Herb welcomed them in with plates full of tortes for them to try. I can now say we’ve had our first TasteCasting Crashers in Columbus.

To see more photos of the event, the Tortes and the TasteCasters and owners in action visit the TasteCasting photo gallery. To see pictures of all the Tortes available at the Suisse Shop visit their torte page and pick your favorite. Saturday, May 2nd is the last day to get your tortes by the slice for $3.50, but, you can order a full torte any time of the year. While I was at the Tasting I ordered my daughter a 10″ Chocolate Torte for her birthday. Best of all it is going to be a “Twilight” decorated cake. This is her new favorite book series. She’s going to love it.

Special Thanks

From all the TasteCasters we would love to thank The Suisse Shop for inviting us in and treating us to the incredible variety of taste tantalizing tortes.
